Former state minister for the Chittagong Hill Tracts Dipankar Talukder was arrested in Dhaka on Monday evening.
A team of the Detective Branch of police apprehended him in Dhanmondi’s Sobhanbagh area, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Talebur Rahman.
Dipankar, who was in hiding in the capital following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government amid a mass uprising on August 5, is accused in a number of cases, the police official said.
“Legal action is being taken against him,” he added.
