A fire broke out at a sandal factory in Shyampur, Dhaka. Seven units of the fire service responded promptly and managed to bring the blaze under control.
Anwarul Islam Dolan, Fire Service Media Cell Officer, confirmed the incident, saying, "the fire broke out at an old sandal recycling factory in Shyampur at 5 am today (February 11). The first unit arrived at the scene at 5:08 am, followed by six more units. After nearly two hours of effort, seven Fire Service units successfully brought the blaze under control by 7:18 am."
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The blaze completely destroyed all the raw materials in the factory. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, he added.
