Mentioning this year's Eid as very important, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, “we have to move away from mutual distance so that we can unite the nation and society becaus unity is especially important right now.”
He said this at an Eid greeting exchange program with dignitaries from various classes and professions at the Chief Advisor's office in Tejgaon in the capital on Monday.
The Chief Advisor said, “Today we are celebrating Eid. The message of Eid is reconciliation among ourselves, leaving the past behind and moving forward. A day like this in society that our religion has given us is a great blessing. Its not just a day. It is not observed just by meeting each other; we have to hug. This is the rule of religion. We hug and make everyone our own. Today is a day to embrace it.”
He said, “Let us all keep that message in mind: may we move away from the distance that there was. This is for the good of society. May we embrace the good of society within ourselves. That is why this Eid is very important so that we can come closer to each other. We can move away from the distance between each other. We can unite the nation and society as this unity is especially important for this time. May we achieve that!”
Dr. Yunus also said, “We remember this day every day. We want peace in the country, so that people can follow their own wishes. They should not have to follow any path due to anyone’s fear or intimidation. We all wish everyone well. We want peace for the nation and peace for the whole world.”
