Thousands have gathered a rally following Eid-ul-Fitr congregation at Agargaon today (March 31).
The rally, a first of its kind, began from the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) grounds in Agargaon, where the Eid prayer was organized by the Dhaka North City Corporation. The rally moved toward Sangshad Bhaban (National Parliament House) where a cultural programme was organised, reports TBS.

Inaugurating the cultural programme, Dhaka North Administrator Azaz said, "Today, friends of different religions have joined our Eid festival. We will bring back our traditions."

Adviser Asif Mahmud said, "We will not forget our martyred brothers on this joyful day. Today, Eid really feels like Eid to us. The traditional Eid procession of Dhaka is being celebrated after a hundred years. We will organise such an Eid festival every year. We want to celebrate Eid with everyone. On Eid day, the city dwellers will not sit at home and watch TV, but will celebrate through a joyful festival."

A father Mohammad Saiful Islam, who offered Eid prayers at the National Eidgah with his son, said, "May we all forget our differences and walk together."
Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) teams of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police are on the street ensuring safety and security of citizens.
The Eid congregation was held at 8:30 am. Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and DNCC Administrator Azaz attended the Eid prayers alongside other government officials and thousands of citizens.
Meanwhile, the main Eid prayers were held at National Eidgah ground, with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus attending along with several advisers of the Interim Government.
