Chief adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has underscored the necessity for firm national unity to maintain the new Bangladesh that gained in in exchange for the sacrifices of the new generation.
He made the statement on Monday in a brief speech after the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the National Eidgah grounds in the capital.
“We will pray for those who sacrificed their lives to build a new Bangladesh, those who lost their normal lives due to injuries,” he said adding that the country people must unite to build the Bangladesh of martyred and injured dreams.
“We have to work so that we can move forward as a permanent united nation,” Prof Yunus continued.
“We will definitely fulfill the dreams of those who sacrificed themselves for the dream of a new Bangladesh. We will build a new Bangladesh as a united nation no matter what obstacles come our way,” he reaffirmed.
Today, Eid congregations are being held in every village, every market, every town and every city of Bangladesh.
He, on behalf of the nation, extended the Eid greetings to everyone including those who did not get the opportunity to participate in the Eid congregation, expatriates.
He also extended his greetings to the patients who are undergoing treatment in the hospitals, and to mothers and sisters.
Earlier, the chief adviser offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the National Eidgah grounds at 8:30 am.
