Sharfuddoula to officiate in the opening match of Champions Trophy

Sharfuddoula to officiate in the opening match of Champions Trophy

Bangladeshi umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Shaikat will stand as an on-field umpire in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opener between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi on February 19.

With him, Richard Kettleborough will also stand in the opening match of the tournament.

Joel Wilson will be the TV umpire and Alex Wharf the fourth umpire. Andrew Pycroft will be the match referee.

The ICC has now confirmed the full match officials’ schedule for the group stage.

Sharfuddoula will also officiate the Afghanistan vs. England match on February 26 in Lahore.

In addition to his on-field duties, he has been assigned as the TV umpire and fourth umpire in various other matches.
