The country’s leading business conglomerate, Bashundhara Group, has come forward to help the flood victims.
As part of their initiative, the group has prepared 25,000 sacks of relief materials for flood victims in coordination with the students living in the Bashundhara residential area. The relief materials will be distributed on Saturday.
Each relief package has half kg of toast biscuit, four oral saline packets, 2kg of flattened rice, half kg of molasses, half kg of puffed rice, and two 1.5-litre drinking water bottles.
Besides, 12 boats and speedboats have been arranged by Bashundhara Group.
In this regard, Md Yasin Hossain Pavel, GM and head of marketing of News24 said, Bashundhara Group will come forward to help the flood victims.
The teachers and students of various universities thanked the initiative of Bashundhara Group in an exchange meeting on Friday.
American International University’s Management and HR Department Associate Professor Dr Shibli Ahmed Khan and Management and HR Department Senior Assistant Professor Dr Mohammad Ali were present at the meeting.
The students on Friday night at ICCB packed the food items that will be sent to the flood affected area on Saturday morning, said Monirul Islam, Head of Division - accounts, finance and operation of International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).
More than 4.8 million people have been marooned as a devastating flood created havoc in 11 districts of the country.
