Thousands of students entered into the secretariat demanding cancellation of ongoing HSC, equivalent examinations and result publications using subject mapping.
Around 2 o'clock on Tuesday, the students stormed through the gate of the Secretariat towards Zero Point and breaking the police barricade. They entered the secretariat and started marching between buildings 6 and 11.
The students said, “We have been hanging over the one and a half month exam for several months. They told us a few days back that the exam will be on 11th September. Then it will take another month for the completion of the exams. After that there will be a month-long examination. If it takes so long, when will we publish the results? And when will we be admitted for undergrads?”
They also said how can a board exam hang for 6-7 months? That's why we don't accept it. We want the results of the tests to be given as per the tests conducted. If the demand is not met, we will continue the movement.
Before this, in a meeting at the Ministry of Education on Tuesday, it has been decided that the examination of the remaining subjects of the HSC and equivalent examinations will be held in a half-question-and-answer format. And it was also decided that the exam may be postponed by another 2 weeks from September 11.
The decision was taken in a meeting presided over by Wahiduddin Mahmud, the education advisor to the interim government.
