Terming that the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Mehrun Runi has been a farce, Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam has said his ministry will work on the killing case.
He said a reinvestigation will be launched in the Sagar-Runi killing case. The justice of the case will be ensured very soon.
Nahid Islam made the assurance while briefing journalists at the Secretariat on Sunday morning.
The adviser said the formation of an independent mass media commission is being considered. It will be finalized after consultation with the journalists.
He also said the media cannot be partisan. There should be no division among journalists. Everyone should work together.
Nahid Islam said he doesn’t believe that he has to appear more in the media because he has become an information advisor. He prefers less appearance in media.
