A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police took Ramesh Chandra Sen, a former minister of Thakurgaon-1 constituency, into their custody after detaining him from his residence on Friday night.
According to local Awami League leaders, DB police detained him from his residence in the Ruhia area in the district around 11:00 pm on Friday.
At this time, Ruhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Gulfamul Islam Mandal accompanied them, they said.
“A team of DB police in plain clothes detained him and took him into their custody. We cooperated with DB in this regard,” the OC said.
He, however, declined to mention any reason about his detention.
