Former Major General Ziaul Ahsan, a Sheikh Hasina loyalist who was dismissed from service after the Bangladesh Army announced the formation, has been arrested, reports Daily Sun.
Police arrested him on Thursday night from Dhaka’s Khilkhet area in connection with a murder case filed with New Market Police Station, sources at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said.
Earlier on 6 August, Ziaul Ahsan was detained in dramatic circumstances around midnight after the plane he was on was brought back from the Dhaka airport runway to the boarding bridge.
Ziaul Ahsan served as Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC) since 2022 before he was relieved of his duty.
