Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud claimed that per unit electricity cost in the country is less than neighbouring India.
“We don’t mention other countries including Japan’s power-consuming cost. But we can compare it with neighbouring India. Per unit electricity cost in Bangladesh is less than India,” he said.
The minister claimed while exchanging views with journalists at Bangladesh Secretariat on Thursday.
Comparing electricity inflation in other countries across the world, Dr Hasan Mahmud said, “Inflation has occurred in the whole world. Our inflation is very little compared to many developed countries. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and others only tell the inflation of Bangladesh hiding the world scenario. I hope they won’t give such a statement further.”
