Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said the government of Sheikh Hasina will have to bring in power once again in the next elections to reach various allowances including old-age pension, widow’s allowance and disabled allowance among the beneficiaries.
He made the remarks while distributing various government allowances among the beneficiaries in the Betagi union under the Rangunia upazila of Chattagram on Wednesday.
Dr Hasan Mahmud joined the program through the virtual platform.
Betagi union parishad chairman Mohammad Shafiul Alam presided over the function while Rangunia upazila chairman Swajan Kumar Talukder, Chittagong University teacher professor Dr Mohammad Sekandar Chowdhury, NNK Foundation chairman Mohammad Khaled Mahmud, among others, were present.
The Information and Broadcasting Minister said the current government is providing allowances among suitable persons irrespective of parties, religion and colours.
