Bangladeshi citizens can now avail citizenship of 44 more new countries in the world.
Keeping citizenship of Bangladesh, it would be possible for Bangladeshi nationals to gain citizenship of those countries.
Cabinet secretary Mahbub Hossain came up with this development after the cabinet meeting on Monday, reports Daily Sun.
The cabinet secretary said earlier there were 57 countries for getting citizenship, now 44 more countries added in the list. From now on, Bangladeshi people can get dual citizenship of 101 countries.
Of the countries, there are 19 countries of Africa, 12 countries of South America, 12 countries of Caribbean region and one of Oceania.
The 19 countries of Africa are: Egeypt, South Africa, Kenya, Algeria, Sudan, Morocco, Ghana, Ruanda, Burundi, Tunisia, Sierra Leone, Libya, Congo, Liberia, Central African Republic, Eretria, Gambia, Botswana, and Mauritius.
The countries of South Africa are: Brazil, Bolivia, Columbia, Venezuela, Surinam, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay and Guyana.
In addition, the 12 Caribbean countries are: Cuba, Dominiocan Republic, Haiti, Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Barbados, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The country of Ocenia is Fiji.
