Newly elected Deputy Leader of the Parliament and Awami League Presidium Member Matia Chowdhury said if BNP participates in the next elections her party would be very happy.
“Next parliamentary polls would be participatory. We believe various political parties would join it. If BNP participates in the next elections we would be very happy.”
Matia made the remarks after paying rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a floral wreath at his mausoleum in Tungipara of Gopalganj Monday afternoon.
She, later, attended a dua mahfil seeking the salvation of all martyred in the country’s Liberation War and Bangabandhu.
Local Awami League leaders and officials of the administration were present at that time.
