Quraner Noor, the national Hifzul Quran competition 2023, powered by Bashundhara Group, the largest business conglomerate of the country, started in Chattogram region on Sunday.
The registration for audition was held at LGED Building in the city's Sholoshohor area from 9:00 am.
The auditioners had to register by their names, father's name, Madrasha's name and phone number at six booths set up at the ground floor of the building.
Later, the activities started at the Kamrul Islam Siddik Auditorium at around 10:00 am, reports Daily Sun.
The audition earlier was held at Sylhet, Mymensingh and Cumilla regions.
The mega islamic reality show audition will take place in Rajshahi and Raangpur on February 14, Khulna and Faridpur on February 18, Barishal on February 20, Dhaka (North) on February 22 and Dhaka (South) on February 23.
The first prize winner of the competition will win a prize money of Tk 10 lakh while the Second Prize Money is Tk 7 lakh, third Tk 5 lakh, and the fourth and fifth Tk 2 lakh each.
One of the Judges of the show, Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Pesh Imam Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Muhiuddin Kasem said 30 hafezes will be primarily selected for the competition. Of them, 10 will be selected later.
Only three out of the 10 will get the opportunity to compete for the title in Dhaka, he said.
Mufti Kasem also informed that the audition in Sylhet and Cumilla regions received overwhelming responses.
This is the highest prize money declared for the Hafezes till date, he said.
The first prize winner of the show, along with the prize money, will get the chance to perform Umrah with his family and teachers, he informed.
Considering the additional opportunities for the winner, he estimated the real prize money would stand at around Tk 20 lakh for him.
He also informed that Bashundhara Group made Hajj arrangements for 104 pilgrimmers recently.
The teen hafezes will be interested in learning to recite Quran in a proper way following the initiative of the Bashundhara Group, he added.
Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Pesh Imam Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Muhibbullah Baqi Al Nadvi, Pesh Imam Mufti Muhiuddin Kasem and Gulshan Masjid Khatib Mortuza Hasan Fayezi will be the judges in the final audition of the Chattogram region.
