Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings will face Sharjah Football Club in the single-leg qualifying play-offs (preliminary round) of the AFC Champions League 2023-24 at the Sharjah Stadium on Tuesday.
Kings, which reached Sharjah on Saturday, will face Sharjah Football Club in the single-leg qualifying play-offs (preliminary round) of the AFC Champions League.
The South Asian clubs especially the Bangladeshi clubs usually are not used to playing at such high temperatures and the players found it an additional challenge in this tour.
Kings’ head coach Oscar Bruzon was also worried about the extreme weather but he was hopeful that the players would adjust to the new conditions ‘well and fast’.
While asked about the preparation, the Spaniard replied, “All are good here. We have doubts regarding some players’ small injuries but we are trying to recover them.”
According to the match schedule, the game will start at local time 07:35pm (BST 09:35pm), reports Daily Sun.
Meanwhile, Kings goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico feared that the extremely hot weather could have an impact on their performances during the game.
“The weather may have an impact because we will have only two training sessions here. It will be tough for us to adjust quickly. Hot weather, it is really a problem,” Zico said.
