Trinamool BNP Chairperson Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury and his wife were denied permission to travel abroad and were sent back from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon.
Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury alleged that the immigration police did not allow them to board their flight without clearance from an intelligence agency.
The senior politician told the media that he and his were scheduled to go to Thailand for treatment. They were preparing to board of flight of Thai Airways. But immigration police did not allow them saying one intelligence agency did not give clearance for his travel abroad. However, his wife was allowed later. But it was too late as the flight left the airport in the meantime.
Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury was the vice-chairman of BNP. In 2015, he quit BNP. Later in 2023, he joined Trinamool BNP as its Chairperson.
