Electoral Reform Commission chief Badiul Alam Majumder said the issue of electing the country’s President through direct votes is under consideration following the recommendation.
He came up with the observation while briefing journalists after attending a view-exchange meeting at the Election Commission Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Saturday (November 23).
Badiul Alam Majumder said they have received recommendations to elect the President through direct votes. The President couldn’t be a member of any political party.
When questioned whether the issue will remain in the final report of the Electoral Reform Commission, he said, “There is no decision so far. We will recommend after considering all recommendations.”
