Finance adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed expressed his firm determination of making quality job opportunity for the youth of Bangladesh.
He said, “Our ongoing strategy for Bangladesh focuses on creating quality jobs for the millions of youths entering the job market every year.”
He made the remarks on Saturday while inaugurating an exhibition at Drik Picture Library Limited in the capital titled “Paint the sky, make it yours”.
He added, “As a longstanding development partner of Bangladesh, the World Bank Group recognizes the pivotal role that youth play in shaping the present and the future. This exhibition renews our focus on empowering young people and creating opportunities for them.”
He recounted the July-August massacre saying that too many youths were killed and injured during the Jul-August movement and the streets of the country echoed with the cries for justice and change.
The adviser expressed his deep condolences for the martyrs and wishes of full recovery to the injured.
During his speech he said, “It was in the aftermath of this extraordinary movement that the youth and students channeled their energy and creativity into the beautiful wall arts around us.”
He also mentioned how the streets arts have promoted the change, freedom, and social justice.
“The wall arts created by the youth and students of Bangladesh during this extraordinary movement are part of this rich tradition,” he added.
“What Bangladeshi youth did is also unique, and it stands tall. Across the cities of Bangladesh, of which arts from 11 districts are displayed here, these young artists painted their visions of a new Bangladesh. The energy and creativity that emanate from these works are nothing short of inspiring,” he furthered.
“As we walk through this exhibition, let us remember that each piece of art is a testament to the courage and resilience of its creator. These young artists have dared to dream, to express, and to envision a better future. They have used their creativity to paint their vision of a new Bangladesh—a nation where justice prevails, where dreams are nurtured, and where the sky is the limit. They have painted the sky and made it theirs, the finance adviser continued.
