Foreign Affairs Advisor Md Touhid Hossain said that a national consensus is essential on the Rohingya issue and a long-term plan is needed for repatriation of the Rohingyas.
The Foreign Affairs Advisor said this at the national discussion on the Rohingya crisis at the BIISS Auditorium in Eskaton of the capital on Saturday.
The Foreign Affairs Advisor said that before sending the Rohingyas back to their country, their rights and security must be ensured. He also talked about involvement of the international community in this regard.
The Advisor stated that it is also important to work on how to get China and India to support this issue.
At the same time, BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said that the Rohingya issue is affecting geopolitics. It is affecting the country's economic system.
Stating that the Rohingyas should be kept humanely, he said that they should be provided with good education and medical care. In addition, they should be provided with income opportunities.
