ICT Adviser Nahid Islam stated, "There’s no need to call me 'sir'; I am your brother. Let’s move forward together, shoulder to shoulder, just as we did during the uprising."
He added, "If I make mistakes, correct me. If the nation requires, we will go back to the streets again. Until then, everyone should focus on their studies."
Adviser Nahid expressed his desire to ensure that the benefits of the July uprising reach every individual.
“We hope that the aspirations for which everyone protested and shed blood will be fulfilled. The July uprising has taught us to stand with dignity. With this confidence, we can rebuild Bangladesh in a new way,” said Nahid
Speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 11th GSC National Scientist Mania at Government Science College in the capital on Saturday, he made these remarks..
Nahid noted, "Attempts are being made to deliberately tarnish students' reputations. We must all remain vigilant and act responsibly. Conflicts among students only help portray them negatively to the nation."
According to the ICT Adviser, if students are to be portrayed negatively, it will also be possible to portray the July Uprising negatively. He is determined not to give this opportunity to any opportunist.
"No one should be allowed to exploit this opportunity. We have spent enough time protesting on the streets; now is the time to build the state. We need to harness our intellect and creativity. Our goal has always been to create a Bangladesh with an equitable society," said Nahid
He further pledged that the martyrs and injured individuals of the July uprising would receive state recognition, their families would be rehabilitated, and proper medical care would be provided to the injured.
"Gen Z has shown the world that they are not idle; they can sacrifice their blood to free the nation from authoritarian rule," Nahid remarked.
He expressed gratitude to the students of Government Science College for their participation and sacrifices in the July uprising.
