“July Anirban”, a documentary, that tells a story on the anti-discrimination student movement, the bloody July and the stories of hundreds of martyrs, has been released. Since then, it has sparked widespread discussion and resonated deeply with audiences.
“July Anirban” was released on Thursday night by the interim government’s chief advisor’s official Facebook page. This documentary was also released separately on YouTube and various media. Seeing this, netizens and viewers became very emotional.
Abu Sayed’s outstretched hands, Mir Mugdho’s words “Someone needs water?”, and stories of countless students and ordinary people who were killed and injured in the movement have been depicted in the documentary.
Viewers get emotional after watching this documentary and numerous comments from people are seen on social media. Some are saying, “My eyes are watering again and again with pain after watching the video. We have to work for this country with this pain in our hearts. We have to dream anew, show dreams.”

Cultural Affairs Adviser and director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has also shared the video on his Facebook page. He wrote, “We won’t forget. We will keep passing on the story of our heroes, the collective memory of our struggle! You won’t succeed no matter how big your propaganda machine is, you won’t be able to wash your hands by creating false narratives. The truth will be spoken again and again. Justice shall be delivered.”
