Simmons to replace Hathurusingha

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has suspended national team head coach Chandika Hathurusingha and replaced him with West Indian all-rounder Phil Simmons. Faruque Ahmed, BCB boss informed the media on Tuesday.

In January 2023, Hathurusingha was reappointed as the head coach. His term was set to expire next February. However, the BCB has canceled the contract early. Due to the widespread allegations of Hathurusingha's misconduct, BCB has decided to terminate the contract.
