A man was shot dead in Capital’s Mohammadepur Geneva Camp during a gunfight between two agitating group.
The deceased was identified as Shahnewaz, 37, who is restaurant worker by profession.
Confirming the death the police and deceased’s relatives said that the incident took place on Wednesday night.
Shanemaz, who was critically injured after being shot, was rushed to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the doctors declared him dead at around 11:30pm.
Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, confirmed the matter and said the body was kept at the hospital morgue.
The concerned police station has been informed, the inspector added.
The deceased’s sister Nasrin Begum said that her brother was returning home from work, and a bullet hit him, leaving him critically injured. Then they rushed him to DMCH and there medics declared him dead.
