Former captain and allrounder of Bangladesh National Cricket Team Shakib Al Hasan was asked not to return Bangladesh, reports Sangbad Pratidin.
Citing an anonymous source who is close to Shakib, the media reported that Shakib is not going to Bangladesh to play Mirpur test against South Africa.
Shakib has been named in Bangladesh’s squad for the upcoming Test series against South Africa, with the first match set for October 21 in Mirpur.
“He has been informed by the superiors that it is not possible to ensure Shakib’s security, authority promised previously, at the moment,” the anonymous source furthered.
“The superiors also said is better for Shakib no to come Bangladesh right now,” source said.
“At the moment Shakib was denied entering Bangladesh, he was in Dubai. He was set to enter Bangladesh by Thursday noon.”
