BCB hands over Tk 20 lakh to SAFF Women's Champions

BCB president Faruque Ahmed handed over a cheque of Tk20 lakh to the SAFF champions national women’s football team on Wednesday. Team's captain Sabina Khatun received the cheque on behalf of the team.

BCB previously announced a Tk 20 lakh reward for the women's football team in recognition of their victory in defending the SAFF title for the second time, defeating Nepal 2-1 in the final of the 2024 edition at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal, in October.

BCB Directors Nazmul Abedeen, Fahim Sinha, and national women’s football team manager Mahmuda Akter were also present at the ceremony held at the BCB headquarters in Mirpur.

Previously, the BCB awarded Tk50 lakh to the women’s football team after they won their maiden SAFF title in 2022, defeating Nepal 3-1 in the final at the same venue.
