A decision on the treatment of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will be taken in the next day or two, said her personal physician and BNP standing committee member AZM Zahid Hossain.
He told reporters on Thursday afternoon local time.
Doctor Zahid Hossain said, “The doctors are trying their best to provide treatment considering her (Begum Khaleda Zia’s) age and everything. The medical board of this hospital and all of us together may come to a decision in a day or two on what her line of treatment will be. Later, action will be taken accordingly.”
Doctor Zahid said that an eight-member medical board has been formed at the London Clinic for Begum Khaleda Zia’s treatment.
He said, “We have connections with the doctors of this medical board. They are discussing with us. They also praised us for Begum Khaleda Zia's treatment in the country.”
When journalists asked him whether there is a possibility of taking Begum Khaleda Zia to the United States, Zahid Hossain said, “It depends on the doctors here. If they think it is necessary to transfer her for better treatment, then it will happen.”
