Former independent lawmaker Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman has been shifted to Habiganj prison from Dhaka Central Jail.
Superintendent of Habiganj Jail Md Mujibur Rahman confirmed the matter on Thursday (November 21) morning.
Mujibur Rahman said Barrister Suman is scheduled to produce before a Habiganj court. However, no order was received by the jail authority till 11:00 am.
Barrister Suman has been kept in a separate room in the jail for security reasons. He will be produced before the court after getting the order.
On October 22, police arrested Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman in Dhaka’s Mirpur. ‘
He is accused in a case filed with Chunarughat Police Station of attacking the anti-discrimination student movement in the Sayestaganj Notun Bridge area on July 16.
Sumon was elected as an independent candidate in controversial January 7 polls from Habiganj-4 constituency.
