Bangladesh Petrolium Corporation (BPC) chairman Md. Amin Ul Ahsan said there’s an opportunity created to decrease price of fuel oil further that is scheduled to import in the period of January to June.
The BPC Chairman said this at a seminar on 'Market-Based Fuel Pricing: Government-led Initiatives and Possible Corrections' organized by the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) on Thursday।
The BPC Chairman said that fuel oil will be imported from January to June. During this period, there is an opportunity to further reduce the price of imported oil.
Stating that there is no alternative to automating oil sales activities to reduce oil prices, he said, "Our storage capacity is low, and due to the increase in the price of the dollar, we have spent Tk 5 billion more. Currently, work is underway to increase the storage. This will reduce costs as well as prices."
