The day started as usual for Indian fans. However, nobody thought that it would turn out to be a horror show as India were bowled out for 46- the lowest ever total on home soil as Rohit Sharma’s men were completely obliterated by Kiwi pace.
Rohit Sharma’s decision to bat first after winning the toss came as a surprise as the pitch in the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was not conducive to batting.
Five Indian batsmen, including King Kohli, got out without scoring.
The whole innings lasted just 31.2 overs. Matt Henry’s fifer and young Kiwi pacer William ORourke’s four-fer made sure that India’s score didn’t pass 50.
Pant and Jaiswal were the only two batsmen who reached double figure.
