A case has been filed in the International Crimes Tribunal against 18 people, including Awami League leader Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and former DG of DGFI Ziaul Ahsan, in connection with the 'disappearance' of BNP leader Chowdhury Alam.
Alam's son, Abu Sayed Chowdhury, filed the complaint on Monday at the office of the Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, confirmed the tribunal's prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud.
The complaint mentions that Alam, a former city councilor, was abducted on the evening of June 25, 2010, in front of Kalindi Apartment on Indira Road, adjacent to Farmgate.
Other accused individuals include Colonel Md. Mujibur, former Additional Director General of RAB, Lt. General (dismissed) Riyazul Islam, Major Ershad, former Deputy Commander of RAB-2 Khan Md. Akhtaruzzaman, the then OC of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, along with 11 others.
