A Dhaka court imposed a travel ban on Salman F Rahman, the former private industry affairs adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and four members of his family including his wife Syed Rubaba Rahman.
The three other people, who have been barred from leaving the country are -- Salman's son Shayan Fazlur Rahman, brother and Beximco Group chairman Ahmed Sohail Fasihur Rahman, Fasihur's son Ahmed Shahryar Rahman.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Monday allowing a petition of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
ACC public relations officer Akterul Islam confirmed the matter to the media.
The ACC in its plea said the commission is probing allegations against Salman and his close ones of becoming defaulters by choice of loan of Tk around 36,000 crore and laundering hundreds of crores of Taka abroad.
"For the sake of proper investigation, a travel ban should be imposed on them," it added.
