An additional 42 metric tons of potatoes have been exported from Bangladesh to Nepal through the Banglabandha land port. This brings the total potato export to Nepal via this port to 1,386 metric tons since January of this year.
The export was carried out by the organization 'Thinks to Supply,' with 42 metric tons loaded onto 21 Bangladeshi trucks on Sunday afternoon. Previously, on February 20, five trucks transported 105 metric tons of potatoes to Nepal.
The exported potatoes have been supplied to local vegetable stores in the Birtamod area of Jhapa district, Nepal.
Banglabandha Land Port Plant Control Center Inspector Ujjal Hossain confirmed that after testing on Sunday, 42 metric tons of starch potatoes were cleared for export to Nepal.
The growing demand for Bangladeshi potatoes in the Nepali market has encouraged port authorities to expect an increase in export volume in the future.
