The country saw remittance inflows worth $814.3 million in the first eight days of this month. At an exchange rate of Tk 122 per dollar, this amount stands at Tk 9,933.46 crore. On average, $10.18 million in remittances were received daily, according to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank on Monday.
During this period, remittances worth $231.3 million were received through state-owned banks, while specialized banks accounted for $68.4 million, private banks received $512.9 million, and foreign sector banks brought in $1.54 million.
Additionally, remittance flow surged in March, as the inflow stood at $671 million in February and $535.2 million in January during the same period.
