The first batch of Bangladeshi patients left Dhaka on Monday to receive medical treatment in China. On this occasion, the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka organized a press conference at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday.
At the press conference held at the airport, Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen briefed the reporters. Foreign Secretary Jashim Uddin was also present at the time.
At the press conference, Jashim Uddin said Bangladeshi patients are going to China for taing treatment,and it is a very good initiative. Through this initiative, Bangladeshi patients will be able to receive medical care very easily.
He also said, “This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and China. As a result, we are interested in further enhancing the relationship between the people of the two countries. We hope that the relationship between the two countries will further increase through receiving medical care in Kunming.
Yao Wen said, “We are happy to send the first batch of Bangladeshi patients to China. We know that Bangladeshi patients are facing various problems for treatment. That is why we have taken this initiative in response to the request of the interim government. As a result of this initiative, Bangladeshis will be able to easily receive high-quality medical treatment in China.”
The 31-member delegation left Dhaka on a China Eastern Airlines flight. The delegation includes 14 patients, six family members of the patients, five doctors, five travel agency representatives and a journalist.
