A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Desh TV Managing Director (MD) Arif Hasan on a two-day remand in a case lodged with the city's Airport Police Station over allegedly attempting to murder one Sajib, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahin Reza passed the order as police brought out Arif, also the general secretary of Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO), before the court and pleaded to place him on three-day remand.
Arif Hasan was detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport last night as he tried to board a plane, and was later shown arrested in the case.
According to the case statement, Sajib was shot in front of the Scholastica School in Uttara on July 19 while he was taking part in the anti-discrimination student movement. His father later filed the case with the Airport Police Station.
