Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder said the demand for the elevation of primary assistant teachers to the 10th grade is unrealistic while the head teachers of the primary schools are still not getting 10th grade.
He made the observation while exchanging views with the field-level officials at the Sylhet Divisional Commissioner on Sunday (November 17).
Bidhan Ranjan said, “Our first target is to ensure 10th grade of the head teachers of the primary schools. We are creating the post of assistant head teacher. Assistant head teachers will be head teachers by getting promotion and they will get 10th grade gradually.”
The adviser also said the book festival is celebrated every year. Children get new books in the new year. Due to the country’s current situation, it takes time to print books this year. However, students will get free new textbooks from January next year.
