Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD) in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) launched a project on “Enhancing Export Data Transparency for the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB)” under the Programme for Sustainability in the Textile and Leather sector.
The kick-off meeting of the project between both parties was held on November 17, 2024, at the GIZ project office in Gulshan, Dhaka. Dr. Michael Klode, Project Manager of STILE II, GIZ was present in the meeting while BUILD CEO Ferdaus Ara Begum led the BUILD team.
The project is aimed at analyzing the export process and data collection methods of the comparator countries such as; South Korea, Malaysia and Vietnam to recommend EPB some valuable way forward in ensuring transparency in the export data and also enhance the capacity of EPB based on the evidence from the comparator countries and rigorous research findings.
Rayan Sharif, ICT and Digitization Advisor of GIZ, and Md Easin Didar, Knowledge Management Assistant, GIZ were present to correspond. Senior Research Associate Shahriar Rawshon, Research Associate Ahmed Julker Nine, Research Associate Asif Haider from BUILD side were present to prepare an action plan for implementing the project.
