For context, Massey's previous film ‘12th Fail’, which released last year, had a similar opening with Rs 1.1 crore on its first day. However, ‘12th Fail’ saw a more substantial jump on its second day, earning Rs 2.51 crore—significantly higher than ‘The Sabarmati Report's’ Day 2 earnings.
Despite the growth, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ still faces an uphill battle at the box office, with comparisons being drawn to its competitor's stronger performance. The film’s day-to-day growth shows promise, but it remains to be seen whether it can sustain the momentum in the coming days.
Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, alongside Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ is inspired by the real-life events surrounding the tragic burning of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra.
