Krishak Sramik Janata League President Kader Siddique has warned that keeping people without voting rights for a long time will lead to awful consequences for any government.
"People of this country want democracy and the right to vote. Sheikh Hasina's disgraceful downfall occurred because she disrespected people's voting rights. For several consecutive elections, she did not allow people to vote freely," he made the remark while speaking to the media after paying respects at the grave of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani in Tangail's Santosh, marking the leader's 48th death anniversary, reports The Business Standard.
"Those currently in power will face similar consequences if this continues," Siddique added.
