Islamic speaker Abdul Hi Muhammad Saifullah and his family members were seriously injured in a road accident on the Bangabandhu Bridge Expressway in Tangail while returning from a Mahfil.
The accident occurred late Saturday night (November 16), when a truck rear-ended the microbus carrying Saifullah and his family. After the initial treatment in Tangail, they were transferred to Dhaka for further care.
On Sunday(17 November), the information regarding Abdul Hi Saifullah’s accident was verified via a Facebook post from his verified Facebook page. The post included pictures of the injured speaker and the heavily damaged microbus.
The post stated that the accident caused severe damage to both the front and rear parts of the vehicle. Saifullah suffered injuries to his chest, eyes, and back. While he is currently out of danger, arrangements are being made for advanced treatment for his eye injuries.
Efforts to obtain further details from Jamuna Bridge East Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Alamgir Ashraf were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls.
Abdul Hi Muhammad Saifullah is currently the Khatib of the Masjidul Juma'a Complex in Pallabi, Dhaka. He is also employed as the Religious Director of EBS( private telecom service provider).
