As many as 201 administrative civic officials were promoted to the ranks of joint secretaries on Sunday, as the interim government works to reduce the discriminations practiced against different government during the 15-year Awami League rule, reports UNB.
Earlier, on 13 August, 117 officials were promoted to the rank of deputy secretaries. Many among these were promoted to joint secretaries on Sunday.
As per Sunday’s public administration ministry notification, the new joint secretaries would receive the accrued equivalent financial benefits from the date their junior colleagues surpassed them in rank hierarchy. The promotions would be effective from the same date.
The ministry reserves the right to amend or abrogate the order for individuals against whom unwarranted information would be found.
The promoted joint secretaries would have to submit their joining letters through emails to the senior secretary of public administration ministry.
