Information Adviser Nahid Islam has expressed his deep disappointment over the multiple incidents, including mass gatherings in the name of sanctioning loans, in Dhaka and said that the government is considering these untoward events as parts of a conspiracy.
“These are not coincidental events, but parts of a conspiracy,” the adviser said while addressing a press conference held at the Foreign Services Academy in the capital on Monday afternoon.
The government is looking into the matter whether any vested quarter is engaged in hatching a conspiracy to thwart the reform initiatives, said Nahid.
He also criticised the police forces for their inaction in bringing the situation under control in a peaceful way.
LGRD Adviser Asif Mahmud Sojib Bhuiyan, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, and Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir were present at the press conference.
