Mirpur-10 metro rail station resumed operations on Tuesday morning, three months after it was vandalised and shut down in July during the nationwide Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL), Mohammad Abdur Rouf, confirmed the matter to the media.
On 19 July, unidentified individuals vandalised the Mirpur-10 and Kazipara metro stations during the nationwide Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, which eventually escalated into a mass uprising that toppled the Awami League government. Metro rail operations were suspended for over a month following the incidents.
Although metro rail services resumed on 25 August, Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations remained closed. The DMTCL reopened Kazipara station on 20 September.
