Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md. Mainul Hassan emphasized that police officers must earn public trust through their work and professionalism.
Speaking at a welfare meeting held at the Public Order Management (POM) Shahid SI Shahjahan Auditorium in city’s Mirpur on Saturday, he urged officers to perform their duties with integrity.
Mainul Hassan acknowledged a decline in public confidence in the police, blaming the misconduct of a few members. He described this as a significant setback for the force but vowed to restore trust through collective efforts.
The commissioner also paid tribute to the martyrs of the mass uprising and the injured officers who risked their lives to maintain law and order. "We are working tirelessly to rebuild faith in the police. Together, we can make the police a symbol of public trust," he said.
