42 detained with drugs in capital

Police detained 42 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Friday (January 20).                 

Police arrested them from 6:00 am Thursday to Friday morning with drugs as part of their regular drive.   

A total of 1,311 pieces of yaba, 203 grams of heroin, and 28 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Twenty-nine cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
