A delegation of the Communist Party of China paid a courtesy call on Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday.
The eight-member delegation, led by Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Chen Zhou met Obaidul Quader at Setu Bhabhan in the capital.
Newly appointed Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen was present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the Road Transport and Bridges Minister highlighted China's contribution to the development of various infrastructures in Bangladesh including the construction of the Padma Bridge, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
Obaidul Quader also emphasized the development of ties between parties and the people of the two countries.
The Chinese delegation congratulated Obaidul Quader on being elected as general secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League for the third consecutive time.
