State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam Monday thanked the Japanese government for providing technical and financial support for implementation of the metro rail project, reports BSS.
Shahriar made the gratitude as the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh paid a courtesy call on him at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Welcoming the new Ambassador of Japan, he said that Japan is Bangladesh's single largest bilateral development partner and an important country for trade and investment.
Highlighting Japan's cooperation in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh, the State Minister hoped that bilateral relations between the two countries would reach new heights during the tenure of the new ambassador.
During the meeting, ambassador Iwama sought cooperation of the State Minister in fulfilling his duties.
