Outgoing Turkish Ambassador in Dhaka Mustafa Osman Turan paid a farewell call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Wednesday evening.
During the meeting, Mustafa Osman Turan expressed his gratitude to the President for his cooperation in fulfilling his (envoy) assignment in Dhaka, reports BSS.
The President said there is ample opportunity to strengthen the existing relations between Bangladesh and Turkey in various fields, including trade and investment.
He emphasized visit-exchange at both the public and private levels to utilize the potentials of the two countries.
Abdul Hamid thanked the Turkey government and its people for their heartfelt cooperation in the Rohingya issue.
He also hoped that Turkey would continue to put pressure on Myanmar to repatriate the forcibly displaced Rohingyas to their homeland in Rakhine state in the days to come.
The head of the state also thanked the outgoing Turkish ambassador for successfully fulfilling his duties in Dhaka.
